Denny’s Value Menu History: $2 / $4 / $6 / $8 and What Replaced It

This page is a historical note. It is not a current coupon list, and it is not a way to order retired $2, $4, $6, or $8 meals. Denny’s used those price tiers for several years. On January 12, 2026, Denny’s said Slammin’ Meal Deals starting at $5.99 replaced that format.

What the old tiers were

The $2 / $4 / $6 / $8 board was a four-price value menu. It is not on the current official meal-deals pages. If a restaurant still posts an older board, that is a local choice. This website cannot honor an expired national tier.

What replaced it in January 2026

Denny’s January 12, 2026 news release listed ten Slammin’ plates: 2-Egg Breakfast Slam, Breakfast Quesadilla, Two Meat Scrambler, Fish Sandwich with Fries, Grand Slam Burrito, Everyday Value Slam, Super Slam, Chicken Tenders & Fries, Classic Burger with Fries, and One-Piece Country Fried Steak.

Official language is starting at $5.99 at participating restaurants, for a limited time. That is not the same as “all ten meals cost $5.99 everywhere.” Some plates on the same list are priced higher at many restaurants. Confirm the local board.

What came later

On August 19, 2026, Denny’s launched Triple Play Combo Meals starting at $9.99. That offer is a drink + starter + entrée build. It is separate from the $5.99 plate list. Official page: dennys.com/meal-deals.

What this history page does not do

• It does not list $2, $4, $6, or $8 items as if they were still the national value menu.
• It does not invent replacement names such as “Salad Meal Deal” or “Meatloaf Dinner Deal.”
• It does not give family-budget totals or nationwide participation rates.
• It does not say every franchise still honors an expired tier.
